Default Ex wife didnt make house payment

I got divorced over 2 years ago and my wife has been living with the kids in our marital home. I paid the mortgage up until December 09 when the court forced me to quit claim deed the house to her (court battle between us over house) although since she couldn't qualify for a refinance my name stayed on the mortgage. The judge asked her was she able to take over all taxes, payments, etc in relation to the house and she said yes. It was put in the court order that I HAD to sign over the house AND that she would make all payments.

Anyways, I find out last week that she never made ONE payment and my credit went from 811 too 665 in 3 months and it will probably go lower if she continues not to pay. Up to this point my credit has been perfect for 16 years, no late payments, minimal credit card accounts and zero delinquencies except this which I cant control. I called the mortgage company and they say she is working with their credit dept to modify mortgage but its still screwing my credit since I'm still on there. Can I repair my credit with this still out there? Can I send the court order along with MY credit history to somebody at Experian, Equifax or similar and try to fix it? What are my options?

This kind of thing happens all the time. Divorce can be horrible for your credit. It's clear that you are responsible with your credit, but now your scores are suffering because of someone else's actions. It's one of the many flaws in the credit system.

I would start by disputing them. Be specific. Let them know when the mortgage was taken out of your name. If the history of that mortgage was good before she took over, you probably want to keep that history, but it might not be possible because of how the CRAs do things. You may have to get it completely deleted from your account.

Send proof if you have it.
