Unhappy Negotiate pay for delete

Hi guys I'm new here and would like to tell my story. I've always had great credit. Never had any late payments on anything and was always approved for anything I bought via credit. I moved from the Bay Area to Texas last year and with that move my address and phone number changed. After about a month at my new address there was a mix up with my mail and I went almost a month without receiving any mail. Once the post office corrected this issue and retrieved all the lost mail they could everything was back to normal.

A few weeks ago I was on Newegg building a new computer and figured I would finance it and pay it off in a 3-4 payments and build up some more credit. I was soon denied and thought it was a mistake. Last week they sent me a letter telling me why. I looked up my credit report and I have 2 negative items from Comcast Cable and PG&E Elec. The Comcast one is for $147 and PG&E is for $197 I talked to both credit agency's and they said they would change the status to "Paid Collection Amount" but not remove it from my report. I have read that paying them won't matter if I can't get these items removed.

It sucks that over $344 that I can pay right now with no issues is preventing me from getting credit when before I could apply and get $4000+ in credit at certain places. Any tips on getting these removed or any services that can help me negotiate removal. Like I said I can pay them off right now but I don't want to if it's not going even be worth it.

If you pay them, it will probably be much easier to have them removed in the future. Most companies won't bother to verify it with the CRA's when you dispute it, if it's been paid.

If it were me, I would pay them and then dispute them about 30-60 days later. I would keep disputing them until they came off.
