Getting addresses removed from CR

I am having a hard time getting addresses deleted from Experian. I have done it online and tried over the phone. They keep telling me that it is reporting from an account such as Verizon or etc. and to contact them directly. Has anyone ever gone through this same thing and is there anything I can do?

I'm in the process of updating addresses as well. Couldn't get it done through Experian because the rep said it was attached to accounts. I was able to delete everything I wanted with the TransUnion rep. Since they show it as reporting (Experian) to an account, they make you go through the creditor to fix the problem, if there is one.

Yes, this is what I have experienced also. Really a pain in the rear though but have you made any progress with contacting the creditor to change the address? Thanks, Heather

I know how frustrated you are. I owned my own business & had things sent to a UPS Store post office box and the OC listed that address as my residential address. After 3 consecutive letters to all 3 CRAs I finally decided that I would actually go and take a picture of the address with the store front (little drastic I know), and get a letter from the UPS store stating that they had been at that address for 10 years and I did not every occupy the space; in addition it was zoned for commercial use only.

Low any behold, IT WORKED! As soon as I got that address off the other incorrect ones "dropped like flies."

There was entry that was temporary for 3 weeks, but I contacted the OC and they wrote a letter for me.
