I just stumbled on this forum: So, far I've been able to dispute most of my inquiries off all three reports. I had a CA that was for a small amount on a medical bill. It had been paid. Since it was a small Dr's office, I was actually able to call them and say that the insurance company handled it wrong. She called the CA and have them remove it. I recommend this process for those type of CA's. The local people are generally easier to deal with if you just be friendly with them. Generally, all of these happened over a 6 month period back in late 2008. I was able to get the Amex account removed from EQ, but it remains on the others. All these accounts and items are valid. My main goals are to remove the Amex items and the 150 lates before proceeding on the smaller 30,60 items. These were re-aged accounts. They re-aged the accounts, but during the agreement, they continued to mark them as being even further late. They should've only been reported as 60 days, but they continued to report them after our agreement began and by the time the 3-month window was up, they had turned into 150 days! Do I have any angle for dispute here? How should I proceed in my dispute techniques from here? Can I use evidence of EQ deleting the Amex and provide it to TU/EXP? I have found that it is easier to get lates removed from closed accounts that have been paid off than on open accounts with balances. My problem is that all the accounts with lates have balances and are open. I am working on paying these balances down, but I want to attack this from multiple angles and dispute the neg's at the same time. Amex - you have proof it was paid in legal settlement - correct? send that to the other credit reporting agencies. I've tried the other route too - showing another bureau didn't have something listed, etc. - I don't think they really pay attention (nor care) about that. Continue disputing the other lates the best you can. Or like you said, calling up the companies and pleaing your case to try and get them to delete - it is all you can do. And be nice (that is my hardest part; when I'm angry)! Good luck - let us know progress. |
