I ordered all three credit reports in order to see what can be done about my bad credit. I realize that in order to dispute items, or start sending out pfd letters I first need to find out which of my accounts are past SOL. How do I do this? I read through all my reports but can't find any information about last activity on the accounts, or when they first got past due. The only thing I can find is "date placed for collection". This, however, only seem to indicate when the last CA took over the debt. Thankful for help |

You go by the date of first delinquency (DOFD) with the OC. It is the first 30 day late month on your account.......and usually about 6 months before the acct charged off. If you are unable to find the date in your records or on your CRs......you can call up the CRA and ask them for this date. They sometimes call it the FCRA compliance date... By law, they have to have this date so they will know when the 7 year reporting period is up. HTH |
