Default Bank that is now gone

Is it possible to have late mortgage payment history removed from a bank that is now gone like Washington mutual ? I was thinking to dispute the late charges with the credit reporting companys but dont know if would do any good since the bank is defunct.

It never hurts to try...
Chase took over WAMU so more than likely they will have all records. Still....go ahead and dispute it. You may get lucky.

They have all the records,as my current law suit is showing, which has nothing to do with what I'm suing them over

So, Chase is good at keeping and finding records and original files?

Anytime there is a merger or takeover (regarding credit card companies or banks) their records are transferred to the new owner.
For a bank as large as WAMU, it would be stupid for Chase NOT to hold all of the records from previous customers. So I'm pretty sure they have all of WAMU's info.

I was just wondering as I have read on here that a lot of banks, cc companies don't keep good records, which is what makes the 1, 2 punch possible?

1 2 punch only applies to a CA.....not an original creditor.

Most CC companies and banks keep pretty good records with today's technology..........but like I've always said, it never hurts to try disputing.

That's good to know, because it appears that the OC is the one that is suing me. I was hoping that they didn't have records due to the fact that they weren't in the petition that was served to me.
