Default Credit repair agency or repair on your own?

Hey guys and gals,

If you have some experience with credit repair, what do you think is best, repair your credit on your own or shed some dinero to credit repair agencies?

Self credit repair is basically the only way you can repair your bad credit. No one can do it for you, although they can give you advice. You have to really sit down and take a good look at your credit repair and then decide for yourself how you want to go about tackling the problem. Self credit repair is not that difficult to do, but you do have to make a conscientious effort. Self credit repair works.

Default First set of dispute letters

I sent my first round of dispute letters, and have gotten back the response, verified with creditor.
So I am now ready to send my second set of letters. I am using the book Guerilla's Guide for Credit Repair. Has anyone truly had success with this even if they are truly my accounts that I paid late?

Also, I have a judgment that I paid before days before it was recorded but was told by their attorney could not be stopped. Is it possible to get this deleted and how do I do it? Do I need to hire an attorney even if it's mine??

Thank you for all your help! I just need some encouragement I guess!

D.

Absolutely! I got about 80-90% of my accounts removed from my credit reports. Start here and read it thru thoroughly:

Introduction to Credit Repair

The methods we teach on this forum work!!!

Just dispute it. You don't have to give a reason for the dispute. Just tell them nicely to prove that it belongs on your report or to remove it immediately. By law, the burden of proof is on the CRAs!

I have been repairing my own credit for the past year now and have items removed and corrected. It does work but may take some time. Don't give up. Also keep a good paper trail. Read alot on this forum.
