Hi,

I am new to this site and have had a quick look at a couple of the messages... I was wanting to know how I get a discharged bankrupt removed from my credit file.

it shows all is paid and I am discharged however no banks will lend me money even though i have no debt now, earn good money.

i would love to buy a house in a year or two ... (but wont have 80,000 which is what I am being told I will need) pls is anyone can assist I would be so thankful.

Hi,
Sorry I missed this question.

BKs are difficult to get removed......a couple of members here can probably vouch for that..
But it's not completely impossible.
Here are a couple of threads that might give you some ideas on getting a BK deleted and also on removing IIB accts.

Guide To Disputing/Removing Judgments
(even though this is for judgments, some people have had luck having BKs removed this way)

Cleaning up IIB accounts

Yeah, it is pretty difficult to get rid of b/k on file. It is always worth a try though. Make sure you establish new credit too to bring up your scores (if they are lower). Even with a past b/k - we'd need more details on date, but depending on scoring, situation, etc. you still may be able to qualify for obtaining a mortgage (a bit harder these days - but it is possible). It's always best to shop around for lenders too - many have same resources, but sometimes another may have one that could work!

dispute the content of the bankruptcy not the bk its self,in order to correct it the bk would have to be reopened and the cra nor the oc can do that.

This site is mostly based on United States law and just recently Canada. What applies to us will probably not apply to you.

We haven't started a section for Australia. I'm afraid we don't get enough visitors from Australia to do so. In fact, I think you are our first Aussie.
