How do you know it goes against everything we talk about here?

IMHO, you can find out just as much, if not more info for free.

Oh...lol......sorry.
If you look at any of chane's posts, you will see he's got a few links in his signature at the bottom. One of them is the Credit Secret's Bible.......OR you can just look at his profile under the About Me tab.

Have you read it, Trish? If so, recently? They change it all the time as info changes all the time.

I agree that you can learn as much online for free, but the information is all over the place. And when it comes to credit repair, there is a ton of misinformation on the Net.

What I didn't like about it:

1. The website is full of hype.
2. The book also has a lot of filler content in it.
3. There are some things they teach that I disagree with.
4. There are some products they promote that are really lame.

What I did like about it:

1. I actually learned a lot from it.
2. They have some creative ideas and letters that you won't find online anywhere.
3. They focus on all of credit repair, not just disputing.
4. They give you alternatives to debt validation...they don't think it's very effective. And I'm starting to agree with them. It's never really been effective for me.
5. They update it periodically.

It's been a while since I've read it and I have learned so much from so many different sources that I don't even remember everything I learned from that book. It's got a 60 day money back guarantee. Buy it and read it. If you honestly don't think it's worth the money, just ask for a refund. They will refund your money, no questions asked.

No.....I have not read the book. I guess I just feel like you really shouldn't have to pay for info when so much of it is already out there.
I also feel like (and maybe I'm a little jaded) everyone is out to make a buck.....so I'm a little leery of certain things being sold or advertised.....especially on the internet.

You've, by far, given the best review of the book I've read so far. Some were either it was great.......while others were saying they wasted their money. But no one really would say why.

I'm a bit curious now though....lol.......any way you could elaborate a little more on #4 (of your likes)?

That's absolutely true: everything you need to know is out there...for free. HOWEVER, so is everything you DON'T need to know.

The most expensive advice is always free. I'd much rather pay an expert for advice then get it for free from a non-expert.

I would bet that about 10-20% of the information on credit repair is true online. We see it everyday in this forum...people tell us "Oh, I just disputed online" or "I just disputed it all as 'not mine'. Or, "I just paid off all my 6 year old bills thinking it would help my credit scores. I heard that was the best thing to do."

So, how does false information get spread? Parroting.

People saying "I heard..." or "I read..." Then, other people see that so they heard or read it too...so they go to a forum or blog or facebook or digg or wherever and say they heard it too.

Well, if enough people heard it, it must be true right? No, absolutely not.

That's why I will rarely comment on something unless I have done the research. I wouldn't say the book is bad or good unless I read it myself. Because even though one thinks they are being helpful by saying they read that "most people said it sucked" or whatever...they're actually just repeating what a few people said. And unbeknownst to them, it spreads like a virus.

They didn't mean to spread misinformation...they were simply just stating what they "heard".

And who are these people who said it sucked? Credit experts? lol Maybe. But, I doubt it.

I've worked for a credit repair service...and we dealt with people who would bad mouth us even though we removed 19 out of 20 negative items. Why?

Because they came in with 400's, we got them to 610 mid score, but you need a 620 score for a mortgage...so guess what? They didn't get the house. So, guess what? Our credit repair service is a scam! We failed! We suck! Call the BBB! "Credit repair is a scam!" Let's go to 100 "scam sites" online and complain about So & So credit repair service!

Then, you go to Google and type in our company name and sure as shit...the top 20 sites tell what a scam we are.

Now, we all know that 19 out of 20 negatives removed is awesome! But, they don't. They don't understand. They just know that we took $300 or so from them and didn't get them into the trailer park they wanted. lol

I totally agree...and so do they. That's why they offer a 60 day money back guarantee if you are not 100% satisfied. All products at Clickbank do. The risk is all on them. I've bought other products from Clickbank that I wasn't satisfied with and got the refund within 24 hours.

Information can be great for some and worthless to others. It depends on how you use that information. I used the credit repair information I learned from that book and other forums to remove a bankruptcy from 2 reports and about 40 charge offs & collections from each report and raise my scores from around 480 to 720 in about a year.

Others will get a hold of this great information and do nothing with it...or dispute a few times then give up. I'm on like round 15 with the CRAs. I will never give up. lol

They have a forum where they charge like $50 a month or $150 for 6 months to answer the same questions we answer here for free. (I like my approach better. Run a helpful community for free then allow the people who want to buy products through us do so, no obligation. A person can be a member here for 20 years and never have to spend a dime. It might not sound as profitable...but, it is...probably even more so. We build trust here for free by helping people and providing good information. We promote products that we believe in...products that I use or would use myself!)

They also promote catalog credit cards where you pay like $200 for a credit card with a $5000 credit limit, but you can only by stuff from a catalog. Then, they report the good credit to the bureaus. They accept anyone with $200.

I guess it works, but it just seems like there are better ways to build credit.

I definitely think a better book could be written on the subject, but I think this one is the best so far.

Trish, you should write one. Then, I will buy the rights from you or help you promote it for a percentage. It's what I do for a living. I love making money by helping others!
