so how could i work something out with the OC once sold, to pay them and have them agree to remove the account?

i have an account that is really bad on my credit. its a voluntary surrender, which they are reporting as repo, from americredit. the charge off is $6,000 and i was told i couldnt buy a car becasue of this. can anyone suggest maybe a good way to have the OC removed also if i go throught he CA?

Help!!!
Hmm.......for a repo, you may want to read this.

Also, it can be more difficult to get an OC off once they have written it off and sold it to a CA. You will have to either dispute it off or find errors in the reporting to be able to get some leverage.

The WAMU one is probably out of collection SOL.....so you should just dispute it and see if it will fall off that way......or you could even do a 1 2 punch.

The date open is just referring to the date that CA acquired the debt.

I really don't see any errors in the way those are being reported... You can still go ahead and dispute them though. Just say you have no knowledge or records. If the Electric Bill comes back verified, you should try a PFD with them. They might actually work with you. Especially on such a small amount.

And for the others........from 2004......that makes them 5 years old.......do you know what the collection SOL for your state is? So if they are out of SOL, you can't be sued for them.......that's a good thing.

I have a question does the SOL refer to the state you lived in at the time you opened that account? or the state you are now living in...just a little confused..

The state you live in or the state in the credit card agreement if there is a state named,Which might be sooner than you think.

if its a address you can say never lived there. The only exception is if there's a public record attached to that address.

You don't ever need to give a reason for disputing anything. There's just no need to. Also, there is never any reason to lie to them. Word your disputes wisely and you will never have to. Less is more.

Always remember that the burden of proof, according to the FCRA, is on the CRAs. THEY have to prove to YOU that the information they are reporting is accurate. You don't have to prove anything to them.

my quess on those "Date Opened" things, is the date the CA opened the account. Meaning maybe it went from OC to CA at that time.
Im having somewhat of an issue as well... Alot of my old debt has fallen off (SOL) and I was rather surprised when I pulled my credit reports. All though I got mine from free credit report dot com, and paid the 25 bucks for all three reports and scores. If I were to dispute on that would it take 45 days? Also, I made a payment of $33 to an OC with the intent to pay the rest of the $100 to pay it off the next week, well I get this call from a CA stating that they have the account now, and that I owe them. They gave me a balance of .90 cents more then the original. After haggling with that back and forth I just paid off the OC and now owe nothing occording to the OC (Tident Asset, Orien, or something like that) Now I get a call today from that CA saying that they will report this debt to the bureaus if I dont pay them. They also mentioned that the OC (Trident) cant remove this from my report but instead the CA can. I dont know what the hell to do... Should I pay the CA too, and wait it out and see if i get some sort of refund later? This is driving me crazy.... lol
