Default GW Response from bank

My husband GW'd the bank he has his truck loan through. Due to a confusion there were 3 30 day lates last summer on his report. Other than that the past 6 years he's never had a late. He GW'd them thinking they would help us out and here is their response, I call BS but who knows:

Dear Cody,

I am writing in regards to the letter you sent in March about your credit history with P****** Bank. Unfortunately we are unable to have the credit reporting agencies reverse the past due marks on your credit. Once it has been reported we are unable to reverse items.

I seriously call BS.. They can too have the CRA's change them, right?

Yes they put it on they can take it off.I would go to the bank and talk to the manager to see if they can resolve it.If not i would find another bank to bank with.

Yep, I call BS. I just recently went through a HUGE misunderstanding with the bank we used (past) for our vehicle loan. They put 2 30 day lates back to back which dropped my dh's score 100 points.

I had called once and gotten a b*tch that was not only rude but told me it was impossible to change it. My husband went to the bank to talk to someone.........rude again......said no.
I called AGAIN.....got a very nice lady........and BEGGED. Told her the whole story (it was honestly a big misunderstanding.....but in their eyes....we were late). After jumping through a lot of hoops and begging........she took it to her manager and boom......within like a week the lates were gone. She even gave me a control number for reference......which is a number they are given by the CRA anytime a change is made on someone's CR.

It IS possible. Stay persistent. Call, write.....just keep after it. You can find someone that will listen to you and change it.

Thank you for giving me hope. I'm going to send another letter out... The hardest thing is it is a small town personal bank. We don't bank with them anymore as it was from the previous town we lived in, but my in laws still live there. Do you think they'll get upset with us continuing to send letters. How would I reword another letter in response to the whole ".... Unfortunately we are unable to have the credit reporting agencies reverse the past due marks on your credit. Once it has been reported we are unable to reverse items...." crap?

I think that somehow.......without coming off like a "know it all".......you should let them know that it is possible for them to correct items that are reported to the CRAs.........whether it be "a friend told you".......or you "spoke with the CRAs" and they told you to contact them.....or both......neither of those are far fetched.
There are plenty of people out there that have had success........AND if you were to dispute this with the CRAs and it came back verified.......they would most definitely tell you to contact the furnisher of information.

I would also try calling.....when you get a CSR......you can talk to them first if you wish.......or just politely ask to speak to their manager. If you stay calm and collected........yet persistent, you may find someone that knows which strings to pull.
