Here is the first one I have written up.. Please revise it if needed: Dear C**, I am writing you in regards to my account. I recently applied for credit and was denied. After reviewing my credit reports I noticed that I had an account from you on there. I was hoping to tap into your forgiving side. At the time of the delinquency I was unaware of the amount I owed. Once I was notified I immediately made payment arrangements. I am now asking for your forgiveness in that you will delete the account of my credit report as it is being reported to all 3 major Bureau’s. Thank you for your time, |

This is just my opinion.......but I think it would be a BIG waste of time trying to gw a CA. I would dispute and dv instead. I just think it's highly unlikely that any CA would just delete your acct from a gw letter. Most of them are sneaky and scummy.........and generally not sympathetic. GW letters are usually for OCs. I've just never heard of anyone having success with a CA that way. I mean......who knows........it never hurts to try. I just don't see you as having the best odds.

I agree, a CA most likely won't do anything unless maybe they are told by their customer (your past creditor) that it should be removed. Nice letter though, maybe you should send to original creditor. I'm starting to do that and I actually think some are going to be helpful and forgiving! Things happen, and they have to at least try and understand that and be a good company and do the "right" thing in my opinion. Worth a try!! good luck

This is a letter I drafted up, how does it sound/look? Dear Equifax, I would like to ask you to prove that the following accounts belong on my credit report. They are damaging to my credit score and need to be removed immediately. C** Group, Acct. Number: ******** Lindy’s *******, Account Number: ****** Lindy’s *******, Account Number: ****** |

Hmm....that sounds like a "not mine" dispute........which is fine if you don't mind a fraud report on all 3 of your CRs. (I've had FAs on my CRs for like 2 years now )If you don't want that......then you should reword it to say something like......I noticed these accounts on my CR and have no knowledge or records of these......please investigate these accounts: *then you list your accts as they appear on your CRs* Please send me a copy of my updated report once your investigation is complete. Thank you, danelleo
