Default Problem with AMX and disputes

So like i have mentioned before me and my dad have the same name and his american express credit cards show up on all three of my CRA's. So i contacted AMX to dispute it but i kept getting the run around. So i did a online dispute with the 3 cras (only amx others are with letters) thinking it would be easier to get them off my credit report....sadly experian came back to tell me that AMX says they are mine. So im just waiting on the 2 cras to see what they tell me...what should I do.

also I disputed bank of america because the account because it was sold to a third party, but they stay it is still mine, so now i have a additional 3k on my debt with it should be 3k less. This seems like it is getting compliacated.

lastly i disputed some items that were on my credit report from back in 1993 or 1995 (im 25 as of last week lol) and they are now off my credit report, but....my score when down due to them being positive on my credit so now i have more negitive that positive...is that normal

I would continue trying by contacting Amex again. They should be identifying you by your SS#. Talk to a manager.......be persistent. Get names. If they try to put you off to "look into things", keep calling them back. Be sure to speak with the same person so you are not having to re-explain yourself every time. If you are still getting the run around, you should start filing complaints. You can do this with the FTC, BBB, Amex's headquarters state's AG......get their attention that you are not going to go away.

So do you mean that even though a debt from an OC was sold/transferred to a CA......that they are still reporting a balance?
When a debt is sold, it should show it as a charge off/write off with a $0 balance. Is the CA also reporting this?

You should never dispute a positive TL....especially if it's that old and innactive. That was probably one of your oldest TLs giving you history. Which is a big factor in determining a credit score. I can definitely see how that would lower your score.

See above in red. Hopefully that will help answer your questions.....let me know if you have any more.

P.S. And Happy Belated Birthday to a fellow Piscean!

Oh......I see why you disputed them now. Darn. (Der. Didn't do the math when I was reading it)
If BOA is reporting a $0 balance then that is correct. You can always try disputing it. Just look over it carefully and see if there are ANY inaccuracies (dates, terms, credit limit, etc.) and then dispute accordingly. If it is actually reporting correctly, you may just want to try "no knowledge or records" and see what happens.

I finally got a hold of American Express and they told me that the credit request was made under my SSn....so now they (amx) are disputing fraud under my name...but they dont know what the outcome may be...but they were making it seem like i was lying about applying for credit with them

Wow....seriously?
If the account was opened when you were a minor.......then they should see that it is very likely that this is fraud.

Any chance your dad would have opened an account in your name? Maybe with the intent of building credit for you?

It crossed me mind that my dad may have opened the amx under my name, but I just cant see him doing that and letting them get charged off. The funny thing I wasnt a minor when they were opened, i was 21, but the credit limits were extreamly high 2k, and 2k for the other. Any advice if he did in fact open them under my name...The people for Amx said i may need to file a police report..

My advice would be to talk to your dad. Let him know what's going on........that you found this Amex on your CR and talked to the company. Let him know. See what he says. If he tells you that he absolutely did not open that account.........then it is fraud and you should file a police report.

If for some reason he did open the account........maybe there might be another way around it. I'm sure he would not want your credit damaged........so if there is any way he can talk to Amex and explain that it should have been in his name (or whatever the reason may be)........that would be a better alternative (I would think) than filing a police report and fraud claim.

A fruad is a fraud. Can you check with him?If he did open them then you have a choice to make. You can file a police report with out naming him, just file it as someone open a account in your name with your ss#.Now if he did he owes you.

He explained when he was working for company they offered him amx cards apps which he did....anyways i got two letters for the two act from amx, and they basically stated that it was going to be taken off my credit report...wow thank you guys so much...two down, and two to go...(boa and lvnn)
