Default Am I on the right track?

HI all,
First off let me say what a great informative site this is. Thanks to everyone for the guidance.

I want to make sure I'm on the right track here. So far things seem to be going well. Here's where I am and what I've done thus far.

Opted out.

I have a 5 negatives on my CR that have been there for several years. I sent Pay for Delete letters to all the CA's in an effort to expedite the process. I received one letter saying they were just deleting the the account from the CRA's, it's still showing on Trans Union but gone on the other 2.

I received one acceptance to my offer and have sent the payment certified funds and that account is now gone on 2 of the 3 CR's (gone before they even received payment).

One of the letters I had to resend because the address was incorrect.

The other 2 I didn't hear back from in a timely manner and have now sent validation letters to the CA's (cmrrr) and verification letters to the CRA's (cm) for those 2 accounts and I included the 1st account I mentioned above on the Transunion letter.

My credit scores have already gone up, now I'm hoping I can get the last couple accounts dealt with.

Any input or advice how to proceed from here is welcome

Thanks

Hi Fireguy. Welcome...

I would definitely say you were on the right track!
Even though most would advise not to pay a debt or do a pfd before you send out dv letters and get validation........if you know you owe the debt and want to get things rolling faster.......that's fine.
I think the biggest concern with skipping that step is that you may end up paying a CA that doesn't have the right to collect on the debt.

Looks like all you have to do now is wait for the results on the ones that are draggin their heels.

Congrats on your success so far!
And feel free to ask if you have any other questions.

Thanks Trish,

I did the pfd's first because I'm trying to get this stuff resolved as quickly as possible. I didn't acknowledge the debt as mine just said in the letters that in the interest of getting the tl's removed I was willing to pay $$$ (a portion of what they say I owe). I've seen my scores go up about 40 points already just from the 2 removals.

I have one negative that was in collections that I paid prior to finding this site. So now that is on my CR showing a negative but with a $0 balance. Any advice on how I could possibly make it go away now that I have no bargaining chip?
