You have got to stop misinforming people. How do you know that "most of the time the bureaus don't investigate"? If you are so certain of this.......do you have some sort of proof? And if so I would assume you were greatly rewarded after winning a lawsuit against them.
And once again.......creditors (OCs) do not VALIDATE your debt.....they VERIFY. There is a difference.
To the OP:
If the acct was updated to "payment after charge off" and this is not true.......you can dispute it if you want to OR speak with the creditor about how it's reporting. But in all reality, it is not making a difference in the charge off status, how it looks on your CR and how it is affecting your score.
