Default Bank fall thrus and bank BKs

Okay, so I guess now washington mutual is looking to sell or go bankrupt. What does this mean for someone who owes them money? Cause my husband and I owe them some money on a delinquent account from a few years ago. Can it now be disputed? Are they still collecting? Whats up?

Stupid economy...

It doesn't change much. The account can always be disputed. Whoever buys them out will own the debt or they may decide to sell it to a CA.

Something like that will happen and you will be contacted by whoever gets it. They will want that money. You should then request a DV and dispute it with the CRAs they are reporting to.
