Default eviction question

not quite sure if i've asked this here or not but if i did I'm sorry for repeating myself, OK this is about an eviction that has NOT showed up on my credit but I know will, long story short left ex with the apt in my name he did not pay rent and was evicted so it was in my name only so I 'm the one paying for it ANYWAY my question is, this never went to court or anything I'm not quite sure if that's suppose to happen or not. As soon as I found out what was going on I went to the apt complex that paid what was owed, but they said that it was already on my credit and there is nothing that they could do about it, they were very nice though, they didn't change me for all the crap he messed up but what I want to know is can this be taken off of my credit? is there something I can get from the apt complex that will help me with this? They might be wiling to help in this matter since they've been so helpful about the situation so far, it has not showed up on my credit yet but I'm sure it will AND one more thing (sry I know this is a long post :P) but do all credit reports come in the same format? because I just got mine and let me tell u if was kinda hard to understand , if there is one that anyone thinks lists everything in an easy to understand credit reports for dummies type way let me know PLS!!!!!!

I called the apt complex and told them that this hasn't shown up on my credit and they told me that they didn't send anything to collections and that everything has to go through the court butit will show up on my credit I then asked them if there was anything I could do to get the eviction off my credit when it does show up, they told me to call them back when their office manager was there but if anyone has any advice in the mean time I would appreciate it.

What they did was serve you a summons,at your old address knowing you wouldn't get it.So now you have to call the local court and find out if they got a default judgment.how the papers were served I'm not up on state laws.Usually old landlords trick to evict tenants then serve papers to that address which you wouldn't get.My check with legal aid or consumer laws in your state.

I forget the name of it, but there is a different kind of report that evictions and rental history goes on.

They may have been talking about that. If you google on rental history reports, you can find different ones that landlords will check. You should be able to order one yourself as well.

One is landlordportal.com and then another I saw was tenantverification.com

Either way, unless it's turned into a judgment, it probably won't go on your CR.....and won't affect your score. That's a good thing.

so update on this, I called the court since I never got anything about it going to court and got my cause number and everything, what they told me was that the case was file but then it was dismissed that it wasn't perused, so how does that show up on my credit?

If it was dismissed, then it shouldn't show up at all.
That's good news.

No, a dismissed judgment should not hurt you in any way.
I would imagine it is public record but the only thing it is showing is that someone started the steps to pursue a lawsuit but it never went through. That is not saying anything bad about you. It will never turn into a judgment.

In less it was dismissed with prejudice it can be refiled at a later date. However the sol would kick in.the law is black and white very little wiggle room.
