Hmmm.....well, did you see the TL on TU before you disputed it? If so, then it could mean either it was already removed (possibly by the FOI) OR (worst case scenario) you have a split file and TU was looking at the wrong one. |

Sorry...lol ![]() TL=Tradeline/debt I had a split file with TU. Ugh. Not saying that's what happened.....but it did happen to me. If you have a very thick file (I had 32 accts) and then on top of that start pulling your report often, it could cause your file to split into two different CR files within TU. When it happened to me, TU investigated the wrong file and then sent me a notice just like what you got. |

No, they won't automatically check both......that would take more than two firing brain cells. lol I would go ahead and call them and let them know that you KNOW this particular TL was on your CR and that's why you disputed it. When/if they say "no.....we don't find that in your file", then ask them if there ANY way you might have 2 files with them. You can always just say a friend of yours mentioned about split files and you just want to make sure that's not the case with you. If that does happen to be the problem, then ask for a copy of THAT CR (don't dispute it over the phone - they will want you to but just decline and say you want to see the full report first). Then you should ask them if the files can be merged together (they will probably tell you no but try anyway). |
