Default Delete lates for settlement amount?

Do you think I could call a creditor, ask for a settlement amount, then ask that they delete any late or derogatory marks upon payment? of course with it in writing, but has this ever been heard of?

It's been done but inless it's full amount they'll never never.Don't agree to anything without a written on company letter head.Your chances of it happening are not good, remember your the child their the dad no matter how many times you say your sorry there going to punish.and the credit bureaus don't care. You just something on their shoe

Why not write and explain the reason why in a goodwill letter are you current now? That might help to get it off

I would try a goodwill letter. If that doesn't work then it never hurts to ask to remove any derogatory comments upon payment. The TL would need to say PAID/NEVER LATE....PAID IN FULL.......or at the very least just PAID.

If they won't agree to this then your last resort would be to just have the whole thing deleted.
