I'm here to seek advice for repairing my credit before it gets completely out of control. Being young and dumb is my story and I'm sticking to it. My credit report shows as follows: 1.) Jefferson Capital System - collection account I've tried contacting them and negotiating, but no luck. I wanted it removed after full payment. So with no luck there I set up a payment plan to have it paid off in about 4 months. GOOD or BAD? Are there any steps I can take during payment or after full payment. 2.) RJM ACQ LLC - Paid,Closed/Collection Account This account is paid in full and I've received a letter saying they will remove it from my CR in the next 45-60 days. That was two weeks ago. If not removed within that time frame, what should I do? 3.) WACH/REC - Account Charged Off Been in contact with Wachovia and they said they couldn't remove the debt because that would be "falsifying documents". So after going in circles with them we came to a payment schedule over the next five months and the rep said it will be "Paid In Satisfactory". GOOD or BAD? Any other steps to take? 4.) Florida Commerce Credit Union - Account charged-off I've just paid this account last week. I'm not sure how it's going to be reported. Is it possible to open another account with them to get this account removed? All advice and suggestions are welcomed. Thanks ALL. |

Wellcome to the forums. Well I know that it is better to get bad items removed from your reports than to update them. There several types of powreful letters you can use in order to legally accomplish the removal of negative items. If you've already updated them, it may be very difficult to remove them. In my experience, I've actually had collection accounts removed just by paying the original creditor. Also, if you have any open credit card accounts, it would be in your best interest NOT to close them. Just try to keep the balance low. About 10 percent of your credit line. Closing credit accounts are one of those weird things that lowers your score. Good luck! |
