Default Looking for dispute letters

I'm looking for a form letter to dispute some things on my credit report? I'm trying to fix my credit (without an expensive lawyer).

I was told I could send my creditors a letter to dispute what they say I owe them. But where can I find a form letter or example that I can go off of?

You do NOT need to send your Creditor a "form" letter to dispute. Actually, you're demanding "debt validation" with an alleged creditor. Per the Fair Credit Reporting Act, you are demanding that the creditor validate your alleged debt...every minute detail from amount owed, payment history, account numbers, dates, your signatures, etc. FCRA states clearly that everything on your reports must be 100% accurate or it must be deleted. Period. This is law...this is not theory. You "dispute" derogs with a credit reporting agency and DV a creditor or collection agency.By the way, absolutely do NOT send a form letter to the CRA (credit reporting agencies). The agencies have seen all form letters and may code your dispute as "frivolous," though your dispute is valid. Did I emphasize clearly enough...do NOT use a form letter. Okay, what can you do? Your letter should state clearly why you are correct in disputing a derogatory listing. If you're serious about fixing your own credit, we offer free credit repair at www. fixmyuglycredit.comHope this helps, MikePS We offer letters to "guide" you through the letter writing process. It's not difficult. You can do it.

Consumers write letter's to the credit bureau's every day hand written and printed on all types of paper disputing an account, (not mine, paid, etc.). Be sure to send in copies of all receipts, etc. explaining your specific situation along with ssn, etc. They in turn call the creditor(s) and the creditors must verify the info they have on you is correct, otherwise it will be updated or removed in the customer's favor. You would be surprised at the errors, particularly banks, made all the time. So it is a good idea to get your report every year from all three major bureaus and keep up with the information. Be sure you specify the account number(s). Again, you don't need a form.
