Default Capital One credit card

I applied for a Capital One credit card and got a call asking to verify info. Is this normal?

I remember reading something recently concerning Capital One credit cards and a scam going on.

I never discuss anything with any "company" that calls me asking for information. I ask them for a phone number I can call them back at AND one that is able to be verified (ie. on a legitimate bill from them, on their internet website, etc.) and if they do not like that answer - tough.

Also, for those thinking that if a "company" calls asking for you to touch tone your information is any more legit than the next (ie. asking you to verbally give the information), think again. There -are- DTMF (dual tone multi-frequency) capturing devices, for those in disbelief. Then there is software as well.

This is another reason why cordless phones should not be used whenever discussing anything of privacy (regardless of the scrambling and dual trunk technology claimed, as there are already devices capable of defeating these protection schemes).

At times. It means that your credit is borderline with their standards. They are looking for a way to push you into the approved category.

It is normal if you have a fraud alert on the credit report they accessed.Pull your reports and take a look.

I hope you realize they charge you 10.00 per month regardless if you use the card or not. 120.00 per year to carry a card is a bit steep
