Hola! I had a Wamu CC years ago that I went delinquent on years ago due to losing a job. Wamu was shortly thereafter purchased by Chase who eventually sold the debt to Equable Ascent. The question I have is that although on my CR the Chase debt shows to have been purchased by another lender it still shows as a negative as does where it was purchased by Equable Ascent. I am looking to purchase a home with my fiance in the next year and although her credit is good enough to qualify for a home on her own standing we need my additional income to qualify for a home in the range we seek to purchase in. Thought's, opinions, ideas? I would love a pay for delete situation but I don't think from my readings it will be possible at this point. The debt is right at $2100. |

As unpaid debt winds its way from owner to owner, each party can report your delinquencies and collections on the debt. Passing ownership to another does not negate the accuracy of their reporting, and it can remain in your CR. PFD is an option, but only the party who owns the debt can accept payment, and can only agree to delete their own reporting in exchange for payment. If the OC has sold the debt, their prior reporting can be deleted only by way of their good-will consent. The same for prior debt collectors. At least the current, active owner might agree to deletion of their reporting. |
