I thought I had read somewhere that a collection can only be reported on one of the 3 credit reporting agencies but I have one showing on all 3. Anyone hear of this? Also LVNV keeps marking my credit reports with a KD monthly. This is resulting in my credit report (according to the credit monitoring agency I use) showing I am "30 days late on one or more payments" which is not accurate. I have made all payments to currently open accounts for 2 years. Any suggestions or input on this would also be appreciated. |

No truth to the credit reporting question. A debt collector can report to zero, one, two or three CRAs, at their choosing. As for the monthly reports, any party can report the same information from month to month, even if it does not change. If nothing has changed, it does not affect your credit score. Additionally, LVNV is a debt collector, and not an OC. You don't have monthly delinquencies with a debt collector, and their reporting codes do not even provide for such. If the credit report you are getting indicates that a 30-day late is being reported by a debt collector under their collection account, you have a poorly-formatted credit report. It cant happen. The report is probably not saying that you are currently late, but rather that you have previously been late Monthly lates remain in your CR for 7 years from their date of occurrence. I am sure it is an old late. |
