Hello, I've sent a Pay to Delete letter to a CA for 2 separate bills for about $550 total. But I listed to pay I think about $150 total for both and if so, they should delete it. Instead they sent back I guess a validation papers w/the copy of the bill from the OC. Should I just go ahead and pay it off or do another letter? |

PFD letters are a form of good-will letter, and have no requirement of acceptance. They are a letter of negotiation, throwing out an offer. They can just trash your PFD offer, and never even respond. That is a private negotiation between the consumer and the creditor/debt collector. Many furnishers of information will summarily reject an offer that is contingent upon their agreement to delete accurately reported information. Others will bend to the offer of $$. Just try. But a PFD offer that asks for two concessions on their part, namely deletion of prior reporting and acceptance of less than the full debt due, are less likely to obtain acceptance. Are you willing to make a PFD offer for full payment if they decline or dont respond to your settlement + deletion offer? |

Hello Lian, Thank you for your response and wisdom. I'm willing to pay full if they delete it. I mention that before to the representative who is handling my case. But she said she needs managers approval? So yes, it's not that much money but I can definately PFD if they delete it off my credit and all. Thanks! |
