Thank you! I was not able to send the DV letter today but now I'm going to make a new letter based on the advice that you gave me!

Just another update, it has been over a week and no contact from the corporate office of the tanning salon. I was sick for a few days so my letter to the CA got delayed but I finished it now and it will be sent CMRRR on Monday. I'm really new to credit repair and don't understand all of the laws so I may have done something wrong in my letter. I did not ask for any verification, I felt like asking them for it would just make them give me the run around so I just sent a letter telling them that the debt was paid to the OC in full prior to the date they listed on my report and that they needed to remove it from my credit report or i would file a suit for their violations. My letter may have been short and not so friendly but I felt it was necessary.

You could have asked for both in the letter. You have to remember you're dealing with a colleciton agency and these guys will wriggle and squirm and lie in order to get you to pay them their 30 pieces of silver.

Be direct, firm and don't be afraid of asking for things that are legally your right to ask for.
