Hi guys, My question is reflected at the title of the thread: Can I still send my validation letter to collections if I missed an initial notice from them on the grounds that I was absent from the US for about 2 years?? I simply do not know if they sent me anything - I just noticed them on my credit report. If they did, then allotted 30 days have passed about 2 years ago.. Is there any law or agency that regulates such specific situations? Thank you in advance! |

Absolutely! The collection agencies very rarely send out the mini-miranda notice certified, and if they didn't it certified they have no way of disputing your argument that you never received. Pursue forward good buddy

What if they simply ignore my DV letter despite CMRRR? Will I have to file formal complaints to Attorney General & BBB or even a lawsuit? Thanks a lot! |

| Make sure you send certified. Give it a round or two and document everything. I doubt you will get ignored twice.
