I have an account in collections from an early NEXTEL termination, should I send a PFD letter to the OC or the CA?

Nextel doesn't even exist anymore do they? It's probably a CA reporting on your credit report. Send it to them. I would try the 1-2 punch first though.

Ok well in reference to this old Sprint account, it is from 2008 so its within the SOL.

It was being reported as an active collections acct by Pentagroup which I disputed and it was deleted, however now its being reported by Enhanced Recovery Company.

Balance is $569 this acct was never reported on my CR by Sprint? Anyway, I called Sprint to try an negotiate over the phone however they advised I must deal with the CA despite the fact that Sprint still owns the acct?

I really want it removed, but dont want to send a MO or Cashiers Check to CA, is it really that risky to send personal check?

Whats my best course of action here??

Also I have a charge off from citifinicial from several years ago in which was sold to LVNV Funding LLC. I recently learned that a judge awarded judgment in favor to LVNV in 2008 so its still within SOL to collect on that judgement. I disputed the info with CRA's and it was verified.

Current balance is around $3500 but original amount was $2500.

Do you think it would work to my advantage to send a PFD for lets say $1500 since thats all I can really currently afford?

If you're going to pay it, make sure you get the PFD agreement signed.

Once they have the judgment, it's kinda set in stone. It will be hard to negotiate now, but it's worth a try. Also, ask for a PFD.
