So I'm trying to get something that just popped up on my credit report deleted and NCO Financial Services is trying to say that it's against the law for them to delete any negative information from my report. I've had this done before through other collections agencies but he's sighting the FCRA and saying that they're not allowed to remove anything anymore. Is this true and if not where can I find information stating the opposite (other than all over the web I'm looking for some passage from an official source) so I can call back, pay off the 75 dollar debt and get my house? Thanks a bunch. |

It is an absolute lie. That's what slimy collection agencies do. They lie and deceive people to get money. They would do a lot worse things if wasn't illegal. Creditors and collection agencies VOLUNTARILY report information on your credit report and can delete it any time they choose. Send them a pay for delete letter. If they don't agree to remove it, then don't pay it.

Where would I look to find a form for this letter? I don't even know where to begin with this process. |
