Default CA sending letters to my former employer: is this legal?

I have a collector sending letters addressed to me, but at the address of my former employer. I know how they got the address, because it was listed on my Credit Report as an employer. But are they allowed to do that? If not, what action can I take against them?

If the letters are in a plain letter without the company name its legal. However nobody can open that letter where you worked. If they have a company letter on the outside, that's not legal!

OK, that's kind of what I thought.

My next question: I am getting all of my old employment information removed from my credit reports. When this is finished, and that address no longer appears on my CR, if this company still sends a letter to that address will they be in violation of the law?

That might not get removed because there's a tradeline tied to it.That's the address they were given at time of report. So it wouldn't be a violation.Your former employer needs to send the letter back to them.Marked as no longer here, please change address.
