Collection agency trying to collect on a debt that I don't owe

here is my problem this collection agency first source states in all 3 my credit reports i oue a debt so i called them to see the who the original creditor was they told me so i called the company they stated it was a mistake and i oue 0 they said they were contacting this collection people to pull it back and they sent me a copy of the bill which states 0 bal. now that was 5-2008 so i got a alert from my credit reports and this collection agency just put it in on july24,2008---so i called these idiots and they said i oue i told them i got a copy of the bill which states 0 i told them i can send a copy they said they will wait for the oc to retract it,,,also this collection agency put in all three cr that my husband oues this co 278.00 which is a lie..got a letter from the oc my husband oues nothing . is this collection co. desperate to get money.

WHAT CAN I DO? CAN I SEND THEM A DV OR IS IT TO LATE.

Dispute this with the ca then after a week dispute with the cra'sdo not send any docs to anyone they have to proof it.if they verify itthen in violation of fcra,

ok ok so i write bad but if you dispute the original creditor first.then you dispute the ca's because you set it up so the collection agency verifies to the cra.then you can demend the oc to do a complete audit of their file on you that way you get all the information they have on you.helps to get rid of the ca.
