Default collection agencies?

Does anyone have a listing for collection agencies? Basically, like if you won a settlement in court, and the person still refuses to pay you...?

I use to work in collections.. But I am not sure what you would need to do in your case? Maybe you might consider small claims court if the balance is not to high?

if you won a settlement in court, then you dont need a collection agency that will get a commision from your settlement. It is the duty of the Court to make sure you collect that settlement. How the court does that varies, police may be involed. bottomline, do not go to a collection agency. just consult with a lawyer. You might end up paying a collection agency a huge amount, depends on the amount of your settlement. I know this because I have a collection agency.

You already won your suit. You just need to contact the judge who ordered the person to pay you. If they still won't pay, the judge will garnish his wages and send you the money monthly or whatever.....

I won a court case in small claims court. They said there was a form ($50 fee to be refunded when the money is recovered) to fill out for the sheriff to collect the money if the plaintiff did not want to pay. This was in NC. Talk to someone at your local courthouse, recontacting the judge or taking them to court a second time does not seem logical.
