Bill Collectors and My Older Brother?

My brother hasnt lived with me and my mother for over 2yrs. This means he has his own everything--including a house with is own phone and yes his very own money. My question is why when he fill out those credit card applications he puts down our home number as his when he hasnt been living there for over 2yrs. Why does he do that? Im upset because they have been calling to collect the money that he hasnt been paying--they call back to back its so annoying! So I gave them his "real" home number and they havent called since. Am I wrong for this?

Not at all - he gave your number on the application so he would not be "bothered" when they try to collect. You did the right thing.

That is exactly what you should have done. Either that, or tell them that he does not live there and you wish for them to stop calling or you will have a court order sent to them to stop the calls since they have been informed that he no longer lives there and they are interrupting your lives by calling.

You did the right thing...he has to take the heat, not YOU! I had to pretend NOT to know someone, who kept putting my # down on credit apps etc....finally the calls stopped, but not until it was out and out harassment. Good for you for giving out his real #!
