I received a letter from equafax. They have on my report a bad dept which was appearantly unable to collect as of 04/09 and no true date. I have been in contact with the company since 03/09 and the debt was paid off two days ago because of an outstanding balance of 0.54 cents! How is that company legally able to state they were unable to locate?now I am really mad! |

I got in touch with them and spoke with the guy in charge of their collections dept. We worked it out and he is fixing everything. I called this morning to get my zero balance letter and I'm in a credit of .06 cents. They asked did I want it removed and I said no! Even if it's only .06 cents I want it reflected. It's so strange but I had a thought! What happens when an agency owes you money and they take their time in refunding it? There should be a Nationwide Consumer agency working on behalf of consumers who have balances in their credit! Here's an example. I just cancelled accounts with two companies very well known. Rogers and Fido. The reason for cancellation was (dysfunctional product and services not rendered as advertised). They both owed me money. They took their sweet time in getting it to me and numerous phone calls with patronising CSR's on the other end of the phone. If I had owed them they would have been calling, emailing, sending snail mail correspondance etc. and hounded me to the point of mental exhaustion. Then slap me with a 7 year lasting blemish on my report! Can we coeisively organize and create an agency that places them on report and rates them to their demise? and create a more consumer friendly world. No one wants to get ripped off but consumers appear to be at the brunt of everything with no true protection or accountability. Just a thought! |

It's nice to see someone from the other side of the boarder take interest in Canadians. We're not all bad and have many similarities and the same issues it appears. ![]() Where were you able to locate the information? If you don't mind me asking. I searched the net high and low for Canada info. and it varies from province to province as does from state to state in the US. Funny thing is, I wasn't able to secure any solid info for Ontario or websites. Which is how I ended up at this forum. Every time I typed in credit info for Ontario Canada, it kept bringing me back to your page. Not such a bad thing though...it's a real learning experience. Have a great day! and can't wait to read what you've found! |
