I have a question about disputing old addresses. I have sent my letters to the CR's and Equifax removed the old one's without a problem. I haven't heard back from TU yet but Experian did something kind of odd. They sent me a reply stating that they can't remove my old addresses because it is historical information and it will remain on file. I also got the line about one of my credit grantors reporting an old address as correct which I know is hogwash. All of my current accounts are tied to my current and correct address. It also states that if I dispute again in 30 days, that I won't get a reply. Now what do I do? Can I write them and ask which credit grantor is reporting an old address? Also, they listed all of my old address, including some places that I have never lived along with incorrect ss #'s?

Default Hipaa steps

Hi to all,
I have several medical collections on my credit report. They have recently been paid in full to the collection agencies. What do I do next? I just opted out for 5 years per your suggestion. What's my next step? Can you send me links to the HIPAA letters I need to send and when I need to send them. Thanks in advance for your help.

Default Opting out!

Opting out is very important, but there are other ways for the creditors to find you! Below is a very useful link to help opt out of many other companies databases. These companies also sell your personal information!

Unfortunately I am unable to post the link since I am a junior member, but feel free to PM me and I will happily send it to you.

If you PM me, I can approve and post it (if the link is a non-competitor site.)

PM'd I don't think this site has anything to do with credit repair specifically, but more just preserving peoples privacy in general.

I took a look at the site Chane posted. There is a lot of companies to op-out from. If all of these companies do or do not have our personal info and then sell our info to other companies, no wonder personal ID & info is such a problem. If there are so many companies in this business there must be some good money for selling personal info. I have a real probem with that.

It's a huge business, and I am sure that there are many more than are on that page. Different ones sell different information, some more vital. Every time you fill out a form online, or any form for that matter someone is gaining your information, and chances are selling it! I don't know that I would go through the steps of unsubscribing to every site on there, but definitely read up and pick and choose. From what I know Intelius is probably the biggest issue on there. They have a number where you can fax in your unsubscribe request. The only issue is that every time I have attempted to fax this over to them the transmission has failed. I have never had this happen when sending faxes in the past! God they make it difficult!

It just burns my a@# knowing that this is happening and these companies are getting away with it. Yesterday I had a phone conversation with TU about how they obtained some info and they advised they receive there info from out side sources ( in other words a third party ).
