Default Filing Bankruptcy - Want to be proactive.

New member here. I am going to be filing for BK7 in a short time here. I am trying to be proactive and start the credit repair now if at all possible. Is this something I can do now, or should even bother with, once that BK is done, it is gonna be worse anyway. Does it make sense to join up with one of the monthly monitoring things at this point I am current with all CC's now, and have between 4 cards 15,500 owed. I am doing the BK more so because of an underwater house that I need to get out of. I am going to assume they are gonna close all my accounts. One is actually closed already. Will the others consider keeping it open? Fat chance right? Any advice is appreciated. I have learned lots already just by reading the posts.

There is not a whole lot you can do now except not file.

You might be able to keep some of the accounts open, but you'd have to ask a BK attorney to make sure.

I am sure they are going to close all your accounts.

Chane is Credit Repair Expert but I think he forgot to answer your question related to Credit Repair.

Chane! is this possible to get your credit repaired right after BK?

I was able to keep a couple of accounts open that were in good standing when I filed bankruptcy. You can start to repair you credit after BK, but you should probably wait as long as you can. Generally, the older the accounts are, the easier they will be to get removed.

You should be able to reaffirm the CC debt on an account or two.
