Default BK is a challenge to get removed

I recently sent the b/k letter and got 1 response back so far (probably within a week) from EquiFax I think that it was verified and then the name, address and phone number.

So, I am now going to write to the court house and see if I get a response on their procedure.

I wonder if they can or do verify by phone then? Or letter, but it didn't seem like they took much time for that.

It was d/c in 03, so I'm going to try and see what progresses. But, it looks as if this may not work too well. Still hopeful! gotta try, right?

On a bk dispute they can check it with a system call pacer. And they don't do phones, what did you dispute on the bk you have to find an error are they ignore you!If you had assets try to dispute the normal 0 listing look on your sch f are those amounts correct,is the name of the court house correct those are all disputeable get rid of all old places you've lived before you do anything. The best way to check your bk is to go to the court house.

Well, I wrote letter to courthouse asking how they verify info to CB's. (they are across country from where we are now)

I'm guessing your right and they used some kind of system to verify quickly. (or they didn't verify at all?) I've gotten some deletions on acts. inc. in bk but not all of them (including old address). I think I'm on a dead end road trying to dispute this, but I have to try!! Also, yes, I've heard if you can get rid of all the "bad stuff" included in it and the address during that time it could help your chances, again no guarantee. And again, worth a try!! So... I continue to try... stay tuned.

Well, I got other responses from the bk dispute and from TransUnion I basically got letter saying investigation is now complete - listed below - verified - no change.

And as far as verifying, they sent separate letter stating that Verification Documents not Available. We store info in our records as it is supplied to us by creditors... blah, blah, blah contact your creditors directly.

THEN.. hold on, gets better - (actually I'm surprised this happened so fast)but I got a returned letter from the self addressed stamped env. from the b/k court. It states... The US B/k Court has no affiliation with the major credit bureaus that govern your credit report. You should contact the credit bureaus for info on removing items from your credit report and what specific documents are needed from your b/k file. The Clerk's office can assist you in obtaining copies of your b/k records. Any question, call......

So, I don't know - I did a complete 180! hey? Not that I expected much more, but I was hoping!!

But, also note - like other posts, I do think it is easier if all past creditor stuff from b/k was removed first. I don't seem to be having much luck there either, I can't get them old mortgages removed for the life of me, it's always verified - no change as well.

Any other bright ideas??

So then send a copy of that letter from the courthouse to the CRAs stating that you have contacted the FOI and now they need to delete.......since they do not verify this information with the CRAs. You should also specify that you are NOT disputing but demanding deletion.

Thank, I wish it was that simple.
The letter didn't really directly say they that though. And it kinda acted as if I do have a b/k on file, didn't it?
I think I may need to give up on this one a bit and dispute other items first.

I see what you're saying.......hmmm,
So, what all have you done so far regarding the bk.
Any luck with getting off addys tied to it or accounts IIB?

What I've done so far is re-build credit. And disputed old and wrong info on my report and the addys from b/k. Lots of it was removed, but it seems the major stuff like mortgages and larger loans that were inc. in b/k hang on there.

I'm going to have to order my report again to see where I'm at for sure again and would be curious to see where the scores are at now.

Then another round of disputes focusing again on bad stuff of course. I'm beginning to think getting that b/k removed is near impossible!

It is very difficult to remove a bk before the reporting SOL is up..........but it's not impossible. I have seen success stories. So don't give up just yet.

I'm working on getting some letters for IIB accounts.

So you have disputed some of your IIB accts? If so, did they come back verified? Are the ALL being reported correctly? (0 balance, IIB, no lates after bk was d/c)
