Knowing the laws has changed,You may have to wait until 10 years until your credit is completly cleared off your account.However,these days you could get credit in your name within 5 years after filing bankruptcy.I would suggest talking to a mortgage specialist about applying for property.

Cash... there are also programs out there where you can purchase property no matter what your credit (they don't even check it) but your interest rates are going to be higher.

I've also filed bankruptcy. man! forget even trying to buy a house. the rates are to high. i herd that in three more years the cost will go down. i hope! well i never knew if i filed it would of affected my chance to rent a nice apartment.do you have any pointers on that issue?
