Default Life after Bankruptcy

My brother-in-law & sister-in-law filed for bankruptcy 2years ago and it has been discharged for some time now. They have found themselves in a similar situation that caused them to file the Chapter 7 in the first place. They came to me looking for advice. I suggested several things to reduce their expenses and monthly bills, but they feel it would be too much of a sacrifice (no joke) and would rather file bankruptcy again. After they said that I suggested they talk to the lawyer they worked with to file the Chapter 7.

Putting aside their obvious financial irresponsiblities, what can they do? I'm guessing that Chapter 7 is not an option. Would they have to file a different chapter? i need some tips or advice I can pass along in the event they show up at my front door looking for a place to live.
