They have an online dispute manager , you are in control of the dispute process .... after every 60 days you dispute which items u want them to send letters to.... The problem is u can dispute items so many times, then the bureaus will stop responding... was with lexington and ovation for awhile, lexington law is more effective..

Usually Experian will be the one that doesn't respond.

I heard back from Transunion and they said they verified my information, but they never said what the source was. I wrote to the court house that the bankruptcy came from asking them what there policy was when dealing with Credit Agencies and I received a certified letter stating that they do not deal or provide and information to any credit agency. I wrote up a new letter asking them to provide there source of information and I included the letter I received from the Bankruptcy court.

Time will tell to see what they say / do.

I just mailed out my letters to Equifax and Experian this afternoon.

I have learned a lot from this site and other sources and have removed unnecessary information from my credit reports.

That is why I am doing it myself and not paying Lexington Law or any other law firm. If the bankruptcy can't be removed, oh well. It will be gone in another 2 years.

I actually wrote the BK Courthouse asking for their procedures, and they didn't respond. I'm sending a second letter this week.

Did you send a self addressed stamped envelope? Try that. I sent my letter last Tuesday and I received a reply on Friday. I didn't expect it that fast.

Here is the letter I used:

To whom it may concern:

I am writing to see what your procedure is, if any, when verifying records with credit reporting agencies.

If you could send me a letter in the self addressed, stamped envelope that I have provided with what your procedures are, I would greatly appreciate it.

Sincerely,

My Name

Thanks! I'll send it with the stamped return envelope this time. Hopefully, they'll reply. My BK is 8 years old, and getting verified electronically, it seems, because I get a response back on any mailed dispute in 10 days.

Well, I sent the letter to the BK Court, almost exactly like you stated above, with a self addressed stamped envelope. They returned the letter, with a hand written note at the bottom:

"Please note, you must contact the credit agencies for this request."

Uuummmmmm.............what? I'm getting nowhere with them, after they ignored the first letter, now this. It's becoming obvious they don't wish to cooperate, because I can't believe they're that clueless about what I was requesting.

I guess I'll have to send them another letter making it perfectly clear exactly what I'm asking for from them, with an example response. Perhaps that will help.

The letter you received from the courthouse; all it said was - "Please note, you must contact the credit agencies for this request."?

Did they stamp the letter with there seal?

I find that kind of odd. The letter I received was hand written as well, but they clearly stated that they do not report to the credit agencies.

I am wondering if it has to do with the state you live in, or if the person who wrote the letter was having a bad day or doesn't know what they are doing.

I don't know what kind of inpact the letter I received is going to have with the credit agencies because I am still new to all of this. All the information I have is from stuff I learned from this board.

Maybe someone else can shed some light on the subject for you.

Yes, that's what it said (and only that), word for word, in handwriting and no seal or anything else that would indicate it even came from them. I'm in Southern California, so no idea if that's an issue, though I wouldn't think so.

I would love to hear from others here, if they're from Cali, on their success with getting a statement from the BK Court, or who might offer some help/advice. Mind you...this was my second attempt...the first never received a response.

Sounds like you got a total idiot.
It's a shame you're having so much trouble. You should send another letter.......with another self addressed stamped envelope.

I think it would be a good idea to add something like....."I have been instructed by*insert name of CRA* to contact you regarding the reporting of public records."

Then at least they can't try sending you back to the CRAs again...

Sorry if I missed it, but how old is this BK?
Please keep in mind this doesn't always work......don't get me wrong, it's worth a shot....but BKs are difficult to get removed. Especially if they are fairly recent.
