Question about bankruptcy

I bought my house with my Mom 7 years ago, but she moved out and gave it to me when I got remarried. I am considering filing bankruptcy, but the chapters are confusing. Mom's name is still on the note. My husband is self employed and the house is also our "office". I want to protect my house and not take my Mom's name down with me, if and when I file. Any advice on the chapters and what would work for me?

Speak with an attorney when you decide to file. He will give you the answers you need. You will be allowed to keep the house and at least one vehicle. How it works, I do not know. I do know that the house and a vehicle you will be able to keep. You will need to speak with your attorney. He will probably give you free advice on what your options will be. We were looking into bankruptcy as well, and my hubby dealt with that.
