Default How often can a person file for chapter 7

bankruptcy? I filed last year but i've gotten into a bad situation and i'm now in over my head.I lost my job at the worst possible time, my electric bill alone is $2000. I was forced to move back with my mom. I filed last year but i'm in over my head and I don't have any credit cards nor loans.

You can only do it once every so many years like 7 or 8 yrs. Your only chance now is to stop getting into debt and start paying your debts down. Did you make the same mistakes again? don't feel bad. I did it too and had to file twice. I have now learned my lesson and don't have any credit cards at all. No unnecessary loans. You can't get out of debt by borrowing and getting into more debt I have learned. You could try a Credit Counseling Service. They can help you. Just stop spending now and just pay your debts down and learn from your mistakes! I know some things are unavoidable and trust me I've made many, many financial mistakes. I think we all have.

if you ONLY owe $2,000.00 electric bill make arrangements to pay it off. But it sounds like to me you owe more than the electric bill. to file bankruptcy for that small amount for the price it cost to file bankruptcy ( if you could) don't measure up. If you moved home with mom make every effort to pay off your bills it will pay in the long run. The laws are getting harder to file bankruptcy. Good Luck credit is a luxury .
