Default I'm turning in a leased car and don't plan to

re-lease. Any tips for avoiding extra (unfair) charges? I have a Ford in good condition except for some stains on the upholstery. Mileage is fine. When the lease is up I want to buy a used car (different make), so I won't be negotiating another deal with them. What happens at the turn-in? What can I expect to be charged? What can I do to prepare? Also, if I don't like what the dealership tells me, can I take it to another dealership for a second opinion? (Another Ford dealership I mean.)

Normal wear and tear items are forgiven when ending a lease. Small stains, tears, rips in the upholstery are usually ok. Small dings and dents are also expected. You can turn in the vehicle at any Ford dealership you want, however you probably won't benefit much from it as the lease-end evaluation is pretty standard at all dealerships.
