Default car lease past due with ford..question??

I have a lease with Ford and I just recently switched jobs so for the first time I received a 30 day and 60 day late, I am catching up on it now that I have a new job, however I had a balance due including late charges and today I paid half of what is owed...that brings the car down to only 30 days late. The customer service reps calling me saying they can't accept only half but I still paid half anyways, I have never had even a 30 day late prior to this...Are these customer service reps just trained to scare me because they are acting like their going to come take the car, I didn't tell them an exact date I would have the other half, I said this month, but then SHE said the date of Dec. 21st, so now when I call again they are going to say "you said you would have it by the 21st.."how do they get away with this?I told her exactly that I would have it this month I could not give a date..if you have had any experiences with Ford car leases that you were late on I would like to hear

I agree that as long as your account does not meet 90 days and you are making an attempt to pay your lease they do not want to comae and take your car. That cost them money and they lose money on the lease. Just be honest and get caught up to get them off your back.

I had a lease through Ford two years ago. Normally, in a situation like this, you would want to defer a car payment. I remember asking Ford if i could do that and they were okay with it. They said it will alter the contract slightly and a week later, they sent me a modified lease contract saying that my lease expiration has extended by one month. Maybe they are acting this way because you were way late and did not think ahead. If you were to send the payment by mail, I'm quite sure they will accept the payment.
