Default Question about trading in a leased car.?

Hey guys, i got a lease for three years on a vw jetta on '06, due to trade in '09. But i really want to trade it in next year for '08, there obviously has to be something going agaisnt you if you trade it in early otherwise everyone with a lease would turn in their cars as soon as they get bored of them. Does anyone know? i'm also thinking to trading in for another vw for another lease, just wanted to let u know just in case that might affect the fact that i'm trading in early. ThanksBasically i just want to know the exact penalties for trading in early and how bad these can be, i probably won't do it if i have to pay too much.

A dealer can call your lease company and find out how much it will cost to terminate the contract early. It will always be a different number than what you get if you call yourself (usually more $). In general, it only really makes sense in the last few months and here's why:You owe every single payment you agreed to.That's right. If you have twelve payments at $300 left, you owe $3600.Most people make the right choice there... they don't pay $3600 to walk away from a car. Now, if you had say, three months left, and you absolutely loathed the car... maybe it's worth $900 to get rid of it?Do your absolute best to remove emotion from your decision on this one. Emotion costs buyers alot of $$$.
