Default Car payments are too high and i cannot refinance?

my car payments are 500.00 a month and my husband just lost his job and my income doesnt cover it. We cannot refinance because our credit is less than perfect and our income isnt enough... i dont know what to do and need some advice?? we cannot trade the car in cause its not worth the value of the loan and we would be left carless... anyone been in this situation? any advice on how to make the payments lower, get rid of the car? im sooo cluelessonly serious answers please! thanks

You should try selling it first. Even if you lose a couple thousand it would be better than having it repossessed. I understand that your husband lost his job, but you should have some money in the bank to cover a month or two. A $500 payment is too much for a vehicle unless you make mega bucks.
