After getting back into this and writing letters, I noticed that the negative item on equifax shows:
"Customer Correspondence C3 300 Erie Blvd W
Syracuse,NY 13202-4201
(800) 443-1837"
It was a while ago that I started this and the company reporting was NCO financial, I am now thinking that National grid originally reported this item and then NCO also reported it.
I have no idea how to go about negotiating with National Grid on this as I was unaware they had reported it as well. The collection agency was paid and removed their marks, but National grid's remains.
I am kind of hoping that by sending letters of dispute to equifax they end up just deleting it, but so far National grid is the only thing out of about 15 and 3 bureaus that remains regardless of how many disputes I have started.
