Turning a Charged Off status into a Positive thing?
Hello!
My name is Kevin, and like most of the people visiting this site, I’m beyond swimming in debt, but aside from excuses I’m the only one to blame. I’m determined though, to stop living ‘beneath the radar’ and get back up on my feet.
Searching through the information on this site (Which is very helpful) I’ve got a quick question I’d like to ask!
I recently had an account with Verizon Wireless, that went into a Written Off/Account Charged status. The collection is now being handled by a third party. When contacting them I offered to pay the amount in full up front, but since they are not the once reporting to the CA’s their not able to remove the item.
My question is this: If after paying in full the WO/AC line item, if I open a new account with Verizon, will my credit report reflect two line items (One in good standing, and one WO) Or will –hopefully- opening the new account with Verizon after the original is paid off leave my report just reflecting the new, current, and positive information.
Thanks in advance for any assistance you might have to offer.
Sincerely,
Kev
