Well, I would call up equifax and ask them why it's showing up period. If they are reporting it to ANYONE, they should be able to see it. Then demand that it be deleted immediately.
By law, a TL cannot be reinserted without you being notified. If you had the tax lien deleted previously, then they have to remove it. If they say they can't see it or find it........ask if there is ANY chance you have a split file (this happens sometimes with EQ - I've had it happen to me).......if so, they need to remove it from that file too.
If there is no split file and they still can't find out why your mortgage consultant can see it, ask them to write a letter stating that this file is not being reported.......OR if they will speak to your mortgage guy (maybe on a conference call) and let him know that it should not be on there. Then at least he can make sure the underwriters know that it's a mistake and should not be taken into account.
