In the second post, I list some good companies to start with if your credit scores are low (not sure if this applies in Canada.....but don't know why it shouldn't).
You can also look at the BK forum, there is a pinned thread on BK friendly creditors. I know you don't have a BK, but those are also lenders that work with low scores.
